Do I need to drill and tap my intake plenum to relocate the map sensor? I have the map sensor on a vacuum / boost line off the JR plenum, about 2 feet long. I still have tip-in detonation....

but i am saving up for injectors/pump/cartech shortly. that should fix it, no?

    I'm assuming you have a J&S Ultra v.2?

It doesn't need to be directly on the intake manifold. I installed a brass "tee" where the JR IAT relay plugs into the manifold. The IAT relay goes into one part of the tee and then a 1/8" NPT brass nipple goes into the other. I have a small piece of hose going from the nipple to the MAP sensor.

If you have a J&S v2, what voltage did you set the MAP limiter to?

I do have the Ultra V2.

I will plumb my MAP into the Hobbs 1psi switch like you did, Sonny.

JT, I set it to where it just stays off when the car is off (atmospheric) so the light comes on right when i go into boost. is there a better way? or a specific voltage?

Also, you ultra guys might be interested in this: I am planning on designing a circuit to trigger the Intake Air Temp mod that JR does and also the rjaffey TPS Mod off the MAP limiter light. This way these mods will come on at 0psi. I dont know how this will affect performance, but i think it can't hurt to try it out. Plus it gets rid the relay under the hood. Relays are old school, you know?

Joe, try setting the MAP limiter to 3.0v-3.04v. The tip-in problem should be gone with that setting.

I know of another mod coming VERY soon that will cure the tip-in problem AND get rid of that unsightly pressure switch and relay...

Be patient my friends... it will only be a few weeks more.

Hey guys...Didnt they find a fix for the tip in when JR created the Prelude? It is that big piece of aluminium on top of the Throttle Body. Do they have that available to the public yet?

Here is what I am thinking...

havent seen inside the J&S so I don't know if the LED is tied high and pulled low by the microprocessor or vice versa. this is a start anyhow.
